This book plays on the conventions of how we learn things as children. I am a fan of child cloth books with their wonderful illustrations that teach us lessons of how to tie a shoe lace, zip a zipper etc. I wanted to make something that would be small and intimate that you could hold in your hand. By using a doll size corset, I could use those conventions of how we learn things children and contrast them with the how we learn things as adults - through advertising and/or text written by "experts" in the field that are told to us through the media.
The images in this book show all the organs that become deformed while wearing a corset, while the text,
as well as the name of the book,"Good Sense" "Little Beauty,” comes from corset advertising, all which extols the health benefits of corset wearing.
